How do we help you?
Paperwork made easy
We take the pain out of the paperwork.
Payroll and money
Not only will your apprentice or trainee contribute to your bottom line with practical skills and knowledge acquired through their training, but your investment also brings with it a number of financial incentives which may include:
- Australian Government standard Commencement and Completion Incentives ranging from $750 – over $4,000
- training award pay rates (if required)
- exemption or rebates from payroll tax (where applicable)
- exemption of apprentice’s wages from workers compensation premium calculations
- incentives to assist in the employment of under-represented groups such as Mature Aged, School-based and Indigenous Australians and apprentices or trainees with a disability
- a number of extra incentives which are available for certain areas or qualifications.
In addition, your apprentice or trainee may be eligible for a number of benefits such as Centrelink payments, a tax exempt Commonwealth Trade Learning Scholarship, wage support, skills and training vouchers, a toolkit valued up to $800 and travel and living allowances (conditions and eligibility criteria apply).
Notifications
We notify you of any incentives you are eligible to claim, and keep you up to date with changes to incentives and other benefits.
Sign up process
If you are interested in taking on an apprentice or trainee, or are considering offering an employee in your business an apprenticeship or traineeship, you’ll need to ‘sign them up’ to a Training Contract.
ABLAC makes the signup process easy:
- Find a person you want to hire as an apprentice or trainee (this could be a new person or an existing employee)
- Contact ABLAC on 1300 652 236 and ask for signup
- An ABLAC field consultant will arrange a meeting and complete the necessary paper work.
