ABL Apprenticeships Centre launches Kickstart Mentoring initiative
22 July 2010
On 17 May 2010, Deputy Prime Minister, Julia Gillard, Minister for Employment Participation, Mark Arbib, and Parliamentary Secretary for Employment, Jason Clare, announced the Kickstart Mentoring initiative. We are thrilled to announce that ABL Apprenticeships Centre was successful in tendering to provide mentoring and support services to employers and their apprentices, as part of this new Federal Government initiative.
This means that effective immediately employers and their apprentices who commenced their apprenticeship under the Apprentice Kickstart Initiative or the Apprentice Kickstart Extension can take advantage of a range of new interactive support services, designed to help employers mentor their apprentices and to help apprentices in getting through their apprenticeship.
In addition to our Kickstart Hotline service, we will be launching a fantastic new online community shortly for apprentices at www.skillsroad.com.au/community which will provide a range of support, information and an opportunity for apprentices to form peer to peer networks and benefit from regular blogs and professional guidance on topical issues.
Employers will have access to an employer specific online community at www.apprenticeshipscentre.com.au/community that covers everything from performance management and coaching to engaging Gen Y and Gen Z for maximum performance.
Furthermore, ABL Apprenticeships Centre have created a series of specialised workshops that will be available across NSW over the coming months for both apprentices and employers. Details of these events will be finalised soon and published on the website.
As ABL Apprenticeships Centre are delivering this program on behalf of the Federal Government it is free of charge to eligible participants. The initial program will run until 30 June 2011.
