Become an apprentice or trainee

Gain valuable career skills and earn money at the same time!

Interested in hands-on practical work, learning on the job and earning an income along the way? If so, becoming an apprentice or trainee is a great career choice.

Apprenticeships and traineeships are more than just jobs - they're a great way to set yourself up for the career you want.

What you'll receive is:
- a qualification that is recognised in Australia and internationally
- practical and relevant experience and training that is very attractive to employers - giving you a big advantage in the job market, and
- an income straight away.

University students leave Uni sometimes with thousands of dollars of debt. Choose skills over Uni and you can be financially independent much sooner than you think.

Who can become an apprentice or trainee?

The short answer is just about anyone! Becoming an apprentice or trainee is open to anyone from school based apprenticeships to mature age entrants.

The main requirement is that you must be employed to become an apprentice or trainee. You can apply for an apprentice or trainee position with an employer, or alternatively, if you are already employed, your current employer may consider allowing you to become an apprentice or trainee within your organisation. This is a great way to recognise the on-the-job skills you have acquired and to formalise your training in a way that can be customised to your work environment and requirements.

It's never too late to change your career. Apprenticeship and traineeships are not just for young people.

Lots of tradespeople quickly become managers as their careers evolve and develop. Some even start their own business very quickly after qualifying.

Special incentives are also available for employers who take on an apprentice or trainee from a disadvantaged background. This can include people from an indigenous background, those of a mature age and people with disability. Contact us to find out more.

Earn money from the start and gain a nationally and internationally recognised qualification!

The fact that you start earning money from the beginning of your apprenticeship or traineeship means that you can start saving for that car, deposit on a house or next great adventure much sooner than if you were to spent long years studying.
